Terms of service

1. Who we are

Locomint (“we”, “us”) is a sole proprietorship established in Pakistan, contactable at info@locomint.io. It provides local business data through a hosted API at api.locomint.io and through actors published on the Apify Store. Locomint is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any map, search or directory provider, and we use no such provider’s name or marks as our own.

2. The service

We fetch publicly visible business listings and public business websites on your request, normalise them into one schema, and return them to you. Data is provided as is and as available. We do not guarantee that any record is complete, current or accurate, or that any business or category exists in our results. Public sources change without notice; we publish our own reliability on the status page rather than promising a number.

3. Accounts, keys and paying through Apify

Hosted API keys are personal to you or your organisation; keep them secret and tell us if one leaks. The hosted API’s free plan costs nothing and needs no card, and this website takes no payments.

Paid use of Locomint is bought on the Apify Store. Apify is the seller: it runs the listing, bills you and takes the payment under Apify’s own terms, and we never see your payment details. These terms still govern the service and the data it returns, whether you reach it through the hosted API or through Apify.

4. Acceptable use

You may use the data for lawful business purposes, including research, analytics, lead generation and enrichment of your own systems. You may not: (a) use it to send unsolicited communications in breach of the laws that apply to you (for example CAN-SPAM, PECR, CASL or the GDPR); (b) resell or redistribute raw Locomint output as a competing dataset or API; (c) use it to identify, profile or track private individuals; (d) attempt to overload, reverse-engineer or circumvent limits of the service; (e) use it for anything illegal or harmful.

You are responsible for your downstream use. We supply the contact points a business publishes, including the work addresses and profile links of named staff, which are marked in named_emails and named_profiles; whether and how you contact a business or a person is your decision and your compliance obligation. You must comply with the anti-spam law that applies to your messages, for example CAN-SPAM in the United States, PECR and the ePrivacy rules in the United Kingdom and the European Union, and CASL in Canada, and with data-protection law such as the GDPR. You must not use the data for unlawful unsolicited marketing.

5. Personal data

Enrichment returns the contact points a business publishes on its own website, including the work addresses and profile links of named staff. Those are personal data: you need a lawful basis for any use you make of them, and you must honour a person’s objection. We do not collect owner names as a separate field or anything from inside a social media profile. Businesses and individuals can ask to be removed via our removal form; we honour such requests within 7 days across all products. 6. Fees

The hosted API’s free plan is free. When its monthly credits are used, requests that cost credits are refused with HTTP 402 until the credits reset; nothing is charged, because this website takes no payments. Apify listings are priced per result on the Apify Store, and Apify charges and bills you for them.

Refunds are governed by our refund policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: charges made through Apify are refunded through Apify’s own process, and if a run returned bad data you can write to us with the run ID and we will investigate. Nothing in these terms limits a refund right you have by law.

7. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but the service depends on public sources outside our control. We may change, suspend or discontinue features with reasonable notice, and immediately where required to stay lawful or to protect the service. Rate limits and quotas may be adjusted to keep the service healthy for everyone.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid for Locomint services, including through Apify, in the 12 months before the claim arose, or US$100, whichever is greater. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. To close your hosted API account and have it deleted, write to info@locomint.io from the address on the account. Apify listings are paid run by run, so there is no subscription with us to cancel.

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, or for abuse that threatens the service or its sources, and will tell you why.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Disputes will first be raised in writing to info@locomint.io; we commit to a good-faith attempt at resolution within 30 days before either party goes further.
